On the eve of World Aids day, disturbing statistics showed that newly infected teens and young adults is suddenly on the rise. HIV infection among 15 to 19 year olds in the United States jumped to 20% rise in 2005. President Bush on the other hand called on the faith based groups to fight against AIDS in the struggle for moral and conscience.
Let me ask you this question then, what comes first: sex or knowing the person? Let us get back to the moral and conscience, this cannot happen overnight. First reform is family, no interference from government for private affairs. Second, why are we giving young ones too much liberty like freedom to live separately at such a young age when that age is supposed to be guided and monitored by parents.
It is not independence, we can teach children to become independent while they still live with us. It is allowing these kids to be away from families, out of the close guidance of their parents, and maybe making them miss that sense of belongingness they can’t find when they go home to their individual flats. Let parents be parents and kids be kids, no interference from government unless in any form of abuse of course.
Young minds needed guidance and emotional bonding and parental care. It is nice to come with such a warm family who stays together in harmony and love. Giving too much we know is doing these children much harm than good. There need to be change with family, policies, and sex practices. Free sex and the new generation, what it’s gonna be?
