Many new publishers do not know that Google automatically pays Adsense revenues. Google do not send emails and notices to publishers but you will definitely know when they paid because your reflected earnings in the report will give a smaller amount. When you experienced this, look at the report for payments and you will know when Google paid you. If you are located in the US, you need to fill in the tax account number before they will process your payments.
