You don’t have to pay to get your credit report. You may go to the sites of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion . FCRA requires these companies to provide you a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months upon request.

A central website of the three sites was established namely annualcreditreport.com with toll free number 1-877-322-8228 for this purpose. Complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail to Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. The form can also be printed from ftc.gov/credit.
