Philadelphia research reports that elderly women showed measurable improvements in their walking speed and balance after a 9 week yoga program. What is amazing is that they also gained a centimeter in height on the average. The program has done these women well because after the program they were be to walk faster, used longer strides and even stand for longer period on one leg. They gained more confidence and balance standing and walking. Yoga is a good program to combat stress. One needs to refresh one self through yoga, listening to good music and doing some flexibility exercises.
