Japanese firm offers heartache leave for staff. Tokyo based Hime & Company claims heartache leaves gives the staff time to cry themselves out, take care of their eyebags and gives them a little time to compose themselves before going back to work. This news surely made me smile. Yes, I remember reporting to work before with fluffy eyes, sulken mood and performing customer service. Sometimes tears will just roll down while I was working and clients start to ask why. This is a great idea, sure takes care of their staff emotions and need to privately sulk at their rooms for a day.

The company markets cosmetics and other goods targeted for women. Fun way to work with your heartache because the number of days granted is generally related to age. Women aged 24 or younger is allowed one day, between 25 and 29 is allowed two days while those older were allowed to take three days off. Sure domestic problems are not easy to contain. And emotional outburst are hard to hide when you find husbands having an affair with another woman. This may take you a while to salvage self confidence and hurt ego.



A good philosophy creates a healthy work environment. Their CEO said younger women find their next love quickly but the situation could be tougher for women in their 30s where breakups are more serious. Great idea, I commend you for that, very protective of your staff's privacy and feelings. Hime & Company was also the company who gave their staff paid time off to hit the sales season. Their staff were also allowed two mornings off in a year so they may be able to hunt and race to the stores for bargain.

They knew that some women take half days off and hide their purchases in the train station lockers. They just counter that with paid leaves and giving their staff the opportunity to show and talked about their purchases afterwards. This brings people together and yes they are one big happy family.
