life in Philippines setting

I was laughing when the German boyfriend of my officemate before visited her here in Cebu, Philippines middle of this year. He was so used to the peace and order at their place that he had a little culture shock when he visited Cebu. It is not that we don't have order here but we practically don't follow rules with peace and quite.

In residential areas neighbors would tune in their radios and their music as loud as they can get and then sing or dance whatever, when they were listening while doing household task. At night, there are karaoke's and sing-along system, or dramas househelpers listen while doing their task. He really can't sleep.

The noise is too difficult for him to bear I guess because my officemate was really laughing telling us the story. Life in the Philippines is not easy I guess for first time foreign visitors. I see that foreigners who had lived here for long now overtakes in the wrong lane and drives as fast as the public transportations drivers. Want magnificent fast drivers who can get you right to the hospital anytime? Try the Mandaue bound jeepneys in Cebu. Sometimes passengers quarrel drivers while holding on to anything they can hold in the public utility jeeps.

Those are some of the things we haven't changed yet. Loud noises. Although in some villages they are already having some sort of association to maintain the security, peace and orderliness of the place. A lot of neighboring places or barangays just don't practice this yet. So if you have Filipina girlfriends better tell them to transfer ahead to villages that are quite so you won't find difficulty sleeping.
